world_cup_maradona.jpg Maradona runs over cameraman, berates him, then announces World Cup roster

By Jeffery Marcus
May 21, 2010

Buenos Aires, AR — Diego Maradona arrived at Argentina Football Association headquarters on Thursday.

Do bizarre situations find Diego Maradona, or does the Argentina coach engineer them because he is worried he might fall out of the soccer headlines? (Unlikely, I know.)

Just before announcing his final roster for the World Cup, Maradona ran over a cameraman outside the Argentine Football Association headquarters and then vulgarly chastised him for deliberately putting his leg underneath the wheel of Maradona’s moving car.

“How can you put your leg there where it can get run over, man?” Maradona yelled out the window of his blue Mini Cooper. He then went inside the AFA headquarters and announced his World Cup team.
