March 1: Start of 2008 Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race.
March 2: Re-start of 2008 Idiatrod, because they've always done it that way.
March 3: Two dogs test positive for HGH. Two more are ejected for "writing" "Fire Isiah" in the snow.
March 4: Islanders at Rangers. Six fans ejected for displaying "Fire Isiah" signs.
March 10: Knicks at Dallas. A loss mathematically eliminates the Knicks from playoff contention.
March 31: Yankees' home opener, against the Blue Jays.
APRIL
April 1: Mets open season at Florida
April 4: Islanders at Rangers in Isles' regular-season finale. Four Ice Girls arrested for running onto the ice wearing "Fire Henrik Lundqvist" T-shirts
April 6: Rangers at Devils in Rangers' regular-season finale.
April 7: Devils goalie Marty Brodeur fined for skating onto the ice wearing "Fire Sean Avery" T-shirt.
April 8: Mets' home opener, against Phillies
April 11: Red Sox-Yankees, at Fenway
April 14: Knicks host Celtics and win, 66-65, as Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen foul out in the first half. In the second half, Garnett, Pierce and Allen are spotted on the bench wearing "Fire Isiah" T-shirts and are ejected from the building.
April 16: Red Sox-Yankees, in the Bronx. Also, Knicks' season ends in Indiana with a win over the Pacers. Isiah Thomas is ejected for holding up a "Fire Isiah" sign.
April 17: Mets end first homestand, beating Nats for 14th win in a row.
April 18: Newsday's Alan Hahn is ejected for writing "Fire Isiah?" on his notepad during the previous day's news conference.
April 19: NBA playoffs begin.
April 25: Tom Glavine, now a Brave, returns to Shea Stadium and pitches the first no-hitter of the season.
April 26: Jets fans begin booing.
April 27: Jets announce their first pick in the NFL draft.
MAY
May 4: Long Island Marathon
May 5: Joe Torre, Don Mattingly and Willie Randolph share a group hug before Mets face Dodgers in a night game that will not make any newspaper in the Eastern time zone.
May 6: A photo of Alyssa Milano and the Dodger she is dating appears in the sports section as the Mets face Dodgers in a night game that will not make any newspaper in Eastern time zone.
May 7: Torre, Mattingly and Randolph are ejected during a bench-clearing brawl in the series finale.
May 16: Subway Series opens in Flushing.
May 20: NBA lottery. Thomas openly campaigns for another "frozen envelope" moment. Instead, the Chicago Bulls win the lottery and Thomas blames Knicks fans for not supporting the team enough. Eight fans in attendance are ejected for hoisting "Fire Isiah" banners.
May 25: Carlos Beltran hits three homers in Denver as the Mets win to increase their lead over the Phillies to eight games.
May 28: Torre graces the back page as the Dodgers come to town for a series against the Mets.
