Detroit Red Wings still No. 1
By Adrian Dater
February 14, 2012
As Chicago Blackhawks goalie Ray Emery put it last week, February constitutes the "dog days" of the NHL season. It's getting closer to the end of the regular schedule, but we're still too far away to get too carried away -- as some teams do -- about every win and loss. Furthermore, it seems as if too many games go to three-point territory as the season gets later. In fact, 26.7 percent of NHL games in January (48 of 180) went to overtime or the shootout.
